It was in 1992 that the company launched the ITT Sheraton Luxury Collection which was placed in Sheraton’s most exclusive hotels. Aside from Luxury hotels, they also came up with a mid-scale hotel brand to replace the Sheraton Inns and they called it Four Points by Sheraton. In 1998, ITT Sheraton was acquired by Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide Inc and in 2016 was purchased by Marriott International, which has made Sheraton Hotels one of the largest hotels and resort companies worldwide.
