Red Roof Plus+ is one of the “Four Brands, One Roof” system of the Red Roof company. Red Roof Plus+ is the upscale economy lodging under the Red Roof Inn mother brand. The upscale brand was launched in 2014. At that time, it was one of the pioneer hotels to have enhanced LED lighting, additional outlets, and wood-like flooring to replace the old-school carpet. With such innovation in details, the brand was deemed almost the most expensive in the Red Roof series. Its first debut took place in Japan despite the parent brand’s being a US-based and US-prominent hotel chain. According to Red Roof’s president, Andrew Alexander, the choice was based on the demand for their brand.
They saw how the US branches were reaching attention from Asian clients that they decided to put the first hotel under the sub-brand in Japan. That first Red Roof Plus+ is strategically situated near the famous Dotonbori/Sennichi shopping and entertainment district of Osaka. Once the Red Roof found immediate success from that ideal location, they continued to arrange the next Red Roof Plus+ hotels in the US with the same careful attention to accessibility to nearby commercial establishments. According to Phil Hugh, CEO of the Red Roof, the opening of the Red Roof Plus+ has helped their portfolio’s growth.
