About The Hotel Collection AKA Paramount Hotels Bloxham
The Hotel Collection, formerly known as Paramount Hotels, was established in 1994. The first hotels of the brand were scattered in laidback destinations in the United Kingdom, which were Cardiff, Southport, Cheshire, Buxton, and Cheltenham. Three years later, the brand decided to make expansions, which they did by buying three more existing hotels managed by Forte Hotels. Five years later, as their last move before the new millennium, The Hotel Collection purchased Brighton’s Old Ship along with four more properties from the Scottish Highland Group’s portfolio. In their first year in the 21st century, the brand made one of their best acquisitions, which was for the Oxford Hotel. This hotel has been doing well as an accommodation provider for guests visiting Oxford. The location is just right outside the area’s center, so it has been an attractive commercial for travellers.
The Hotel Collection went through different managers as well. This has brought them more properties that are almost countless already. In 2014, they brand was given the silver award in the Best UK Upscale Hotel Brand division for the 2014 British Travel Awards. This was during the reign of Puma Hotels, which was the one to rename the company into The Hotel Collection. It was in 2015 that Lone Star finally got the rights to the chain, which it still enjoys presently.
